It all began a winter afternoon in New York, U.S.A. when a 6 year old girl started to study piano next to her father, musician and composer.
After New York, and moving to Buenos Aires Argentina, she continues her studies, now professionally, for Piano, voice and guitar.
At the early age of 11, Karina Van Ron had already written her first song and performed a classical concert.
At the age of 13 she records sessions as a back up singer for Andrea del Boca, Facundo Cabral, El General, among others and releases her First solo CD singing Christmas songs
Karina Van Ron starts her first band, Bad and Beautiful, at the age of 16, playing bass guitar and singing her songs for a different audience.
Later, Karina was chosen for a while as the bass player for Courtney Love's band Hole. Karina recently released her third CD, Medicate Me (a Catch Of The Day pick at the Los Angeles based radio station, KROQ 106.7FM).
Medicate Me exhibits a mix of rebellion and melancholic Punk-Pop with messed up lyrics. Her rockin' album and live performances also feature renowned guitarist/ producer Richard Coleman (Friccion/ Los 7 Delfines/ co-author of Soda Stereo hits)
In this “Latin fever” era she conserves her incredible personality, with an Alternative/Pop sound, equally sweet, rebel and melancholic. Karina Van Ron sings in English, Spanish and French.
